I really liked this course, he teaches you many tricks to create a good portfolio, but what I liked the most was the fact that he explains everything with examples of real portfolios. Another plus point was that English is not my first language, and yet I had no problem understanding everything and helping myself with subtitles. I also had a small problem that I couldn't open a file and he solved everything very quickly. Totally recommended!

Honestly, the course is packed! Maybe even a little too long for me at first haha. But I get it, there's a lot to learn in D5 and Post-production Photoshop! I appreciate that I can take it bit by bit though, which very helpful for someone with a busy schedule. The structure is nice, it doesn’t throw everything at you all at once, so I can always come back and pick up where I left off. That makes it way less overwhelming in the end. I'm really glad I signed up for this course!
This material is exact and concise with content that is meaningful. The insights and explanations are outstanding. The level of detail is just right without distractions or unnecessary tangents. In addition, there are no plugs for buying the assets but those too are excellent and well worth the modest cost. I would definitely encourage a link to the store in the various lessons as those assets are amazing and add to the sophistication of the final projects. This course covers so many questions that I had after struggling with Indesign. There were so many options to see different successful solutions and I did appreciate the personal reactions to the portfolios shown. Overall one of the best courses I have taken to date. Thanks!

I have been watching Oliver's tutorials since OU Graphics and it has always helped me, so for this reason I decided to try out the isometric masterclass and photoshop courses and without any doubt, it lived up to my expectations. It's packed with a lot of useful information and techniques. And I've been applying them to my drawing for a while now and I'm extremely happy with the workflow I've learnt from Upstairs.
I first heard about D5 through Upstairs, so I was anxiously awaiting this course. And I must say that it exceeded my expectations! The course guides you from key concepts—like applying materials with realism, and creating nice surroundings - but also, more experienced users will be pleased to find out about UV mapping and AI tools!!! Very in-depth course that will improve all of your plans. Teaches the basics like patterns, shadows, fills & Ai + Ps skills, all the way through to tiny details. All of which help your plans emphisise the architecture in a clear, readable way.
A brilliant course worth its price. Teaching was effective and you learn a lot especially if you are a beginner. The course pace isn't too fast, meaning beginners won't fall behind. By the end, you will be able to use the techniques in this case study in your own designs.
I had no experience in anything and this course gave me a huge baggage and many possibilities. I bought all the courses at once and this was the first one I took and I'm already loving it!
Even though I have worked with Indesign for quite some time before, I learned some new practical tips and tricks from this course. Knowing how to work with character styles was especially helpful for me. I also really enjoyed module 6 and the conceptual insights an portfolio reviews that Oliver provided there. Wasn’t expecting to get this much value, tbh. Thought I knew a lot already, but this course goes deep into things and dissects D5 in all areas. I liked that the Upstairs team divided the modules very clearly so I focused on the parts that I needed the most first. Super recommended for anyone looking to enhance their visualization skills!

I recommend this course for anyone starting up in the ArchViz world, this is the course you need to break the ice. Every step is detailed and clear.
I specifically enjoyed how for this tutorial, Oliver stuck to the ins and outs of InDesign and how to use it properly. I think this strategy works well mainly because each person has a different story to tell through their portfolio. Therefore, the tutorial only helps you know how to navigate InDesign and it doesn't really hinder your perception of how to do your portfolio. Also, I think the examples help inspire the audience, especially as we can see Oliver annotate and discuss the mistakes and great points of each portfolio. The extra material is great and I feel that the extra lessons with him are super useful.

I loved the course, and the Upstairs channel as a whole. It gives me the inspiration to work more with architecture illustration, which I've been falling in love with ever since studying it more. The workflow is not hard, but it might be easier to understand if you already have a basic knowledge of architectural plans as a whole.
The course was very intuitive and was complete in the topics covered. I really appreciated the module on post-production, very helpful!
The course was easy to follow. It might be intimidating at first because of the number of steps to achieve an improved effect on an object but it is worth it once you see the end product.

It was a nicely structured course to teach you a lot of things about post-production in Photoshop. Maybe some more experienced artists will find it easy, but it was a great course for users new to the Photoshop side of things, well explained all the way.
Super easy to follow, and all files were provided. In the end, there is a recap of all the shortcuts used in the video, which I found to be really helpful.
The course is extensive and easy to follow, and it’s great that you can participate at your own pace and on your own schedule. I've already been able to apply some tips in practice, which has helped take my renders to a higher level. Fully applying all the knowledge takes time, so it's essential to work on a variety of projects to continuously improve your workflow.

I have followed many InDesign courses but this one is the most complete on the market. The information provided and the method of communication is clear and direct. The examples shown are of great help in understanding how to approach the design of an architectural portfolio. The presence of subtitles in different languages is very useful to fully understand each concept. This course should be compulsory in every architecture school to have a clear idea of how to effectively show each project.
It's an excellent course, it gives you the tools to make very good diagrams, and also the workflow and ethic allow you to make further diagrams in the future as you like, not just the ones that are in the course.

I LOVED IT!!! Straight from Nigeria. I learnt a lot and it was well paced. I know in total it says it's 2 hours. it took me 5 days to complete due to work and a spice of laziness but nonetheless, eventually I was victorious. Off to practice what I have learnt but if you are looking for a sign on whether to take this course or not, I HOPE THIS ALL CAPS WRITING IS A SIGN BOLD ENOUGH FOR YOU!!!
It's really a step-by-step tour of the workflow that he uses. Easy to understand, clear, and structured. I ended up feeling I could do it myself with any other plan drawing. Excellent course!
Everything about how to create architectural renders in Photoshop from scratch to a level where you can able to do anything. Most importantly one can learn how to categorise the layers which does not disturb the workflow. Totally loved it.

I would really like to thank the tutor and his entire team for creating this course. I have always struggled with creating interesting looking architectural plans in the past, but never could understand where to begin from. With this course, I did indeed learn a lot of new techniques regarding smart moves through different software, a non-destructive workflow and most importantly 'Architectural Presentation Style'. Just a few & simple edits to a CAD plan can really improve your drawing. I think that subtlety is the key here. Thank you again. Cheers!

As someone who has used that software a limited amount of times, I feel that this course definitely sets up a great foundation before starting any layouts. This course was exactly what I was looking for to begin learning Photoshop! I am currently an architecture student and was not too good at Photoshop. Still, I feel a lot more confident in my ability to create renderings using Photoshop for class projects and my work-study!

The course is very detailed and thorough. Its beginner friendly but can also be useful to intermediate/advanced photoshop users. The resources, advice and tips and tricks provided by the instructor will leave those enrolled in the course feeling more confident and inspired to unleash their own creativity. This course was better than I expected, I'd definitely recommend it to anyone interested in ArchViz (with Photoshop, SketchUp, Vray)!
It helped me with what I was looking for. The course is very fast, yet focused on the important thing you need to know about Photoshop for Architects, even if you are a beginner. It was good to see the workflow, organization, and specific tips for architecture. I would love to see a course like this for interiors as well, because I think some people would make good use of it.

If you were like me, a person who knew nothing about the importance/power of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, this course will teach you so much. The level of depth and experience of Oliver and the team at Upstairs, is absolutely amazing. Not only do they teach about how to manage computer software, but they also instruct about the profession of architecture, the reason we are even here, to begin with. The amount of work, patience, and drive is self-evident in their work, and I as a student, appreciate it so much. I've also looked around for similar content on the web, and nothing compares to the work at Upstairs.
Thank you for the course. In my opinion, it was well structured, almost all the points you tackled were explained thoroughly, and your pace was appropriate for absolute beginners (the video playback speed can be increased if people want a faster pace which is a nice feature). The course tackled the most famous types of diagrams and gave ample inspiration sources which is also a very good point.
